Beare Services LTD
We partnered with Beare Services LTD, a construction company, to deliver trauma informed consultancy focused on management approaches and workplace culture. Through reflective practice, psychological safety workshops, and communication training rooted in consent, we helped leadership create safe spaces for construction workers to come forward, raise conduct issues, and provide feedback around trauma impacts and mental health, all while building a culture of trust and openness on site and in the office.

Trauma-informed leadership for the construction sector
We partnered with Beare Services LTD, a construction company, to deliver trauma informed consultancy focused on management approaches and workplace culture. Through a series of reflective workshops and one on one sessions with leadership, we explored how trauma responses show up in high pressure environments, how to build psychological safety on site and in the office, and how communication rooted in consent can transform team dynamics and retention. A key focus was creating safe spaces for construction workers to raise conduct issues and provide feedback around trauma impacts and mental health, helping the team identify trauma within the workplace and develop practical strategies to manage it, including recognising how everyday interactions like certain jokes can trigger trauma responses.
Built for the realities of construction management
Rather than standard management training, we designed a programme that acknowledged the unique pressures of the construction industry: high stakes environments, hierarchical team structures, and a culture that often discourages vulnerability. Through reflective practice exercises, trauma response education, and practical communication tools, we helped managers understand how unacknowledged trauma can show up in decisions, delegation, and team morale, and how to lead differently. We established confidential feedback channels where workers could safely raise conduct issues and share how workplace dynamics affected their mental health. Managers learned to identify trauma responses in everyday situations, for example how certain jokes or casual comments can trigger trauma, and gained practical strategies to prevent harm while fostering a more supportive environment.
Measurable change in leadership culture
"The programme changed how I show up as a manager. I'm more aware of the pressure my team is under and I have the tools to support them without carrying it all myself. The reflective practice has been invaluable."
What changed for them:
- ● Managers now recognise trauma responses in themselves and their teams and know what to do about it
- ● Real confidence in having hard conversations with care, not just courage
- ● Practical tools for building psychological safety whether you're on site or in the office
- ● A shared way of talking about communication and setting boundaries
- ● Safe spaces where workers can actually raise conduct issues and share honest feedback
- ● The ability to spot trauma triggers in everyday moments like a joke that lands wrong
